The Missing Footage Of Decade-Old Sting Operation On Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Has Resurfaced

After Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s rape case verdict was announced by the CBI court on Friday, the Haryana government has been pulled up for failing to prevent the mob violence inflicted by Dera goons on Friday.

However, while the blame game continues, a recent report by Newslaundry reveals that a sting operation was done on the Dera chief in 2007.

But, strangely, the sting operation that had aired on India TV in 2007 had been missing from the channel’s website. The video, which has now emerged again, shows the host Editor-in-chief Rajat Sharma explaining how Dera chief Ram Rahim Singh was involved in the murder of one of the rape survivor’s brother.

During the investigation, Tehelka journalists involved in the investigation had tracked down Khatta Singh, who was Ram Rahim’s driver at the time. Khatta Singh claimed that Ram Rahim was involved in the murder of the brother of one of the rape survivors – who was also a sadhvi at Ram Rahim Singh’s aashram.

Here’s the full video of the sting operation:
