Irani Claims Robert Vadra’s Cousin Tehseen Posted Obscene Tweet Against Her In 2016

In an exclusive interview to CNN-News 18, Union Minister Smriti Irani, has alleged that she faced online misogyny when Tehseen Poonawalla, a relative of Robert Vadra, directed a ‘sexist’ tweet against her in 2016.

Tehseen Poonawalla is husband of Monica Vadra, a cousin of Robert Vadra.

The tweet was from February 2016, when the decision to hoist India’s flag at every University was taken. Smriti says that Poonawalla in his tweet had asked her to ‘erect’ a 56-inch pole in every University with a condom on it.

She also questioned other Congress leaders or politicians who didn’t criticise Poonawalla at all.

After the allegation, Poonawalla put out a tweet in defence where he denied having posted anything like that and also threatened legal action against Irani for defaming him.

But Twitterati was not willing to let it go and and blasted him for making such offensive comments against Irani. Many also targeted Congress
