Shiv Sena Activists Storm BCCI Headquarters In Mumbai, Force Meeting With PCB Chief To Be Cancelled

Nearly 40 to 50 members of the Shiv Sena stormed inside the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) office in Mumbai at Wankhede Stadium on Monday. Anti-Pakistan slogans were raised because of the presence of Pakistan Cricket Board chief Shahryar Khan who was in the city to meet BCCI President Shashank Manohar.

The two board presidents were supposed to discuss reviving cricket ties between the two nations in the meeting which was scheduled on Monday.

Sena activists surrounded the Manohar’s office shortly before the meeting could start. They were carrying saffron flags to represent Sena and black flags to condemn the resumption of Indo- Pak ties in cricket as reported by The Hindu .

“The PCB is mentally prepared to even settle for a shorter series but want it to be Pakistan’s home series and in the UAE,” said sources of India Today .

Referring to the 26/11 terror attacks Shiv Sena activists told Manohar that BCCI shouldn’t resume ties with Pakistan.

Mumbai police have detained around 20 Shiv Sena activists and have reportedly brought the situation under control.

Sources of BCCI reported that due to the commotion created by Sena activists the meeting has been cancelled for now and may eventually take place in Delhi.
