Shimla Residents Forced To Melt Snow After Not Getting Water Supply For 11 Days

The first thing that comes to your mind when someone mentions ‘Shimla’ is a beautiful city blanketed in pristine white snow but the reality is quite different.

It’s not that the hill town did not get snowfall this season but it sure is not pristine with all the stink from the accumulated garbage that has been lying outside citizens’ homes for the past 11 days.

Due to heavy snowfall in the region, residents have been deprived of the door to door garbage collection and water facility for the past 11 days, reports the Times of India.

The problem is so severe that the residents are forced to melt snow to meet their daily requirements.

Indira Devi, a resident of the state, told the newspaper that no prior arrangements for lifting garbage and supplying water reflects the municipal corporation’s negligence on the issue.

The state administration, however, has denied any such shortage saying that the water is being made available on alternate days.
