Maoists In MP Hit With Note Ban Release Anti-Demonetisation Pamphlets Mocking PM Modi

Security officials posted in a Maoist-affected district of Madhya Pradesh recently stumbled upon a wad of anti-demonetisation pamphlets along the state’s border with Chhattisgarh.

The pamphlets are titled Notebandi ka nirnay janta par sarkari hamla hai’ (Note-ban decision is government’s assault on people) and are apparently published by CPI’s Gondia-Rajnandgaon-Balaghat (GRB) divisional committee, reports Hindustan Times.

The  pamphlet claimed that the November 8 decision to scrap Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes was PM Modi’s attempt to rescue his party’s deteriorating electoral fortunes ahead of UP assembly polls.

It poked fun at PM Modi’s claim of demonetisation hitting Maoists hard, saying it’s “revolution is the answer to the Brahminic Hindu-fascism fuelled capitalism of Modi.”

It also claimed that the move is encouraging corruption instead of weeding out black money.

“It has sprouted several new agents who are converting defunct currency with new notes for hefty commission,” read a pamphlet. It also said that most of these middlemen were BJP cadres.

SP Blalaghat Amit Sanghi told the newspaper that the Maoists are venting out their frustration from being unable to dispose of their old currency stashes through this propoganda flyer. He further said that the matter is being probed.
