2008 Malegaon blast case accused Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur is among eight people against whom a local court in Madhya Pradesh has framed charges in connection with the murder of former RSS ‘pracharak’ Sunil Joshi.

On December 29, 2007 Sunil Joshi, who had been chargesheeted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in connection with the 2007 Samjhauta Express train blast case, was shot dead while he was walking back to his hideout at Chuna Khadan locality in Dewas town of Madhya Pradesh.

“After investigating the case for three years the NIA had ruled out that Joshi’s murder was linked to the larger saffron terror conspiracy, and submitted a final report, saying he was killed because he made sexual advances towards Pragya,” reports The Indian Express .

Second Additional Sessions Judge Rajendra Kumar Verma on Saturday, September 19, framed the charges under Section 120 (B) (criminal conspiracy) and other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, Vasudev Parmar and Anand Raj Kataria.

The court also framed charges under Sections 120 (B) and 302 (murder) of the IPC against other accused — Harshad Solanki, Lokesh Sharma, Rajendra Chaudhary, Ram Chandra Patel and Jitendra Sharma.

The charges

After having closed the Joshi murder case earlier, MP police reopened the case and filed a chargesheet in Dewas.

In its chargesheet, MP Police has alleged that Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, arrested in the Malegaon blasts case, and four others had murdered Joshi, fearing he might expose the entire conspiracy from Samjhauta to Ajmer blasts.
