Newly inducted HRD minister Prakash Javadekar attended his first public engagement in the national capital in an event organized by Bharat Shikshan Mandal, an RSS-linked outfit on Tuesday.

Javadekar in a bid to avoid any controversy said,“I was invited here so I came. If others invite me, I will also go there.”

Stressing on the fact that too much is being expected from the current government over education he said, “Education is not BJP-Congress-Communist thing. Everyone should be involved in this. I will go wherever I am invited,” reports The Times of India.

The discussion was held on the  topic “National Education Policy: Expectation and Challenges” organised by an RSS affiliate, Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal.

Among other prominent guests, J S Rajput, former director of NCERT said that if education has to improve it should consider reaching out to schools in villages.

“This is the only way class distinction will be removed,” he said. He also said child’s right should be given priority over all other education policies.
