The Businessman Who Owns The Infamous ’Modi Suit’ Will Donate Rs 200 Crore For Girls

A Surat-based businessman,Laljibhai Patel has announced he will donate Rs 200 crore for the welfare of 10,000 girls across the country, reports Zee News

Patel was in the news last year for purchasing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monogrammed suit for Rs 4.31 crore.

Patel says this is his contribution to central government’s beti bachao beti padhao projectThe program will be launched on March 13 at Surat and the parents of 10,000 girls will be selected, who will receive Rs 2 lakh each, The Times Of India said. 

The announcement was made on Tuesday at Vatsalya Gram, a charitable organisation in  Vrindavan. 

However, the Hindustan Times reports that the amount is meant for the marriage of the girls and the amount of Rs 2 lakh would be transferred to the account of the girls only when they turn 21.
