One Of The Murthal Gangrape Witnesses Is Now Allegedly Receiving Threatening Calls

Delhi resident, Bobby Joshi, who claims to have witnessed the Murthal gangrape during the Jat quota agitation has said that he received threat call for speaking up on the case from an unknown number, reports The Times of India.

“I got a call four days ago from a private number. The caller spoke in a Haryanvi accent. He said, ‘Tu zyada jaaton ke khilaf bol raha hai. Tere ko dekh lenge’ (You are saying so much against the Jats. We will see you). After that, he disconnected the call,” Joshi said to TOI.

The Haryana government has filed an FIR on Joshi’s statement. Earlier, it had denied the Murthal attacks.

According to SIT chief Mamta Singh, no formal complaint has been filed by Joshi about receiving a threat call and a probe is being done on the allegation levelled by the complainant. She also said that Deputy Commissioner of Police has been asked to provide him security.

Earlier, a report was filed when a woman from Narela in north-west Delhi appeared before the SIT comprising three senior women officers, and claimed that she was raped by seven men on the night of February 22. In her complaint, the woman had alleged that she was travelling with her minor daughter in a van when some goons stopped the vehicle near an eatery.

She had said the miscreants overpowered the male passengers and gang raped her while holding her daughter hostage.
