In a fresh case of Islamophobia, a teacher at Shiloh Middle School in Atlanta, asked an eighth grade student if there was a bomb in her backpack. The 13-year-old who wears a hijab was baffled after the teacher stopped her in class ,asked the question and texted her father, reports RT .

The Somalian-origin father of the 13-year-old girl told the Atlanta Journal Constitution that, my daughter wanted to know why she was asking her that. We are from Africa, we are Muslims, we live in America.” “I didn’t teach my children to hate people or to think they are better than other people. I don’t want nobody to treat them like that,” he told the newspaper.

The girl’s identity has not been revealed keeping her age in mind, but it was reported that she felt the remark was “very disrespectful”.
