The internet is praising police officials of Nagpur who dropped a 19-year-old girl named Manisha back home safely after she was stranded at the railway station at night.

They provided transportation to the girl as part of an initiative that was recently launched by the city’s police to drop women home if they are travelling alone at night to ensure their safety.

In a tweet, the police claimed that Manisha was waiting alone at the railway station and she wasn’t able to get in touch with her family.

The Nagpur Police station launched their ‘night drop’ initiative after the recent rape and murder of a 27-year-old in Hyderabad. The Punjab Police in Ludhiana and Chandigarh have also started a similar initiative which is commendable.

Twitter users wasted no time in praising the Nagpur police and appreciating their efforts.

Thank you, Nagpur Police. You are setting a great example.
