Raj Thackeray’s Party Men Vandalise Zara Showroom For Selling ‘Pakistani Products’

After forcing Pakistani artistes to leave India, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has now set its eyes on apparel manufactured by Pakistan.

And true to the party’s style, they did it by vandalising a showroom in Mumbai demanding that the sale of all Pakistan-manufactured clothes should be stopped.

What happened?

Ten members of MNS’s student wing allegedly barged into a Zara showroom at Phoenix mall in Mumbai’s Lower Parel and threatened the authorities there against selling garments manufactured in Pakistan, citing Pakistan’s decision to execute alleged Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav, reports Mid Day

Asian Age reports that the workers pulled down clothes and trampled upon them. The members have been arrested.

The accused were booked under IPC section 143 (unlawful assembly) and relevant sections of Mumbai Police Act. They are currently out on bail.

MNS handed the showroom a letter

The party men handed over a letter to the outlet of the Spanish clothing chain. As per Asian Age, the content reads:

“Soldiers, policemen and innumerable citizens of the country are being maimed and killed regularly by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists, and the Marathi manoos in Mumbai has also not been spared by these terrorists…. Just yesterday, the Pakistan government awarded the death sentence to India’s soldier Kulbhushan Jadhav on false charges.”
“In spite of such atrocious behaviour, Pakistani-made clothes are being sold in India, which is alarming patriotic Indians… The money made by trade with India is being used by Pakistan to spread terror… In light of this, you are asked to immediately discontinue the sale of Pakistani-made clothes in your store.”

MNS vice-president Akhil Chitre also told Mid-Day that Zara should stop selling Pakistan-manufactured garments because Pakistan is killing our people and jawans. He said if Zara doesn’t comply, they will have to witness ‘MNS-style agitation’.

The Raj Thackeray-led MNS had last year started a rigorous protest against Pakistan artistes following the terrorist attack in Uri in J&K, forcing them to return to Pakistan.
