Bullied For Her Name ‘Marijuana Pepsi’ Woman Gets A Phd On Unusual Names So Haters Can Suck It

Unusual names are always a topic of interest. However, I can bet my life on the fact that you’ve never heard a name as unique as this — Meet Dr Marijuana Pepsi.

Yes, you read that right. Her name is Marijuana Pepsi and if that wasn’t enough to make it sound awesome, she just received her PhD which turned her into Dr Marijuana Pepsi. Now if that isn’t the definition of cool, I don’t know what is.

According to Lad Bible, Marijuana refused to change her name even after people criticised it or called her out on it all her life. Instead of giving in to the haters, she embraced the uniqueness of her name and made it her own.

A successful real estate agent, this 46-year-old Wisconsin woman was even mocked by her own friends and teachers while growing up. But she completely changed the game with her dissertation, ‘Black names in white classrooms: Teacher behaviours and student perceptions’ and gave it back to everyone who ever made fun of her name.

For her dissertation, she interviewed students who had a similar experience like hers and were mocked in classrooms for having unusual names.

In fact, a lot of people who met her, refused to call her by her full name and instead called her Mary. Not pleased with the whole nickname act, she never gave in to their demands.

Marijuana told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel,

Regardless of what they do, say or what they’re trying to put in place, you still have to move forward and succeed.

The only time she altered her name was for her real estate jobs and put up signs as ‘MP’ so that stoners would stop stealing them.

Never having smoked cannabis herself, her opinions on it are very insightful. She said,

My main concern are the individuals serving time for marijuana-related offences. I would like to see all their sentences overturned. These people were locked up for making money from the sale of marijuana, and now that the government has figured out ways to make the money themselves, it is ‘legal’ and, further, encouraged.

Twitter was also pretty curious about when she started trending.

More power to you, girl.
