A day after External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj tweeted about her kidney failure, a Madhya Pradesh traffic constable on Thursday offered to donate one of his kidneys to her.

The 26-year-old constable Gaurav Singh Dangi said he got worried about Swaraj’s health after he found out that her kidneys have failed and she needs a donor.

“If after medical examinations my kidney is found fit for transplant then I will donate one to her,” he said.

Dangi, who hails from Tiharka village of Madhya Padesh’s Tikamgarh district, is serving as a traffic constable since last three-and-a-half years.

Asked why he was keen on donating his kidney, he said “I am impressed by her work. She is our external affairs minister and a good leader. Hence, I have decided to donate my kidney to her and also made an offer through Twitter.”

Swaraj had on Wednesday tweeted that she was in AIIMS because of kidney failure.

Apparently, similar gesture was extended by several others keen on donating their kidney for Swaraj’s transplant. The ailing minister took to Twitter to thank them for their wishes.

Swaraj was admitted to AIIMS on November 7 and is being monitored by a team of doctors.
