People Are Catching Fish On Bengaluru Streets After Lake Overflows

SW Staff

Just like Delhi & Gurugram, overnight rains in Bengaluru has left the city battling traffic jams, waterlogged roads and flooding on Friday.

The Residents of Akshaynagar, kodichikkanahalli and Arakere layout along Bannerghatta road were the worst hit, with water levels rising to at least 4 feet and flooding at least 40 houses. The infamous Bellandur lake that recently has been spewing froth and catching fire from time to time has also overflowed its banks and caused flooding in neighbouring areas early Friday morning.

Amidst the many pictures that people have posted on social media, there are a few in which the locals are seen using fishing nets to catch any fish that might have strayed out of the overflowing lakes.

As people took to social media to share photos and videos of flooded streets, officials are now using boats and rescuing stranded residents.

Not just fish, there were even snakes!

Of course, some people didn’t forget their sense of humour
