Kids Tied To Pole, Brutally Thrashed Over Suspicion Of Stealing Vegetables In UP

In a shocking incident, two minor children including a Dalit were tied to a pole and brutally assaulted allegedly by a vegetable vendor who suspected them of stealing vegetables. The incident took place outside the shop in Uttar Pradesh’s Sadar Kotwali area on Sunday.

The children, in the age group of 10 to 12 years, were tied to a pole and brutally assaulted by vegetable vendor Nihal on the suspicion of stealing vegetables from his shop, Inspector Hargovind Singh said on Monday.

The matter came to fore when a passer-by witnessed the incident and informed police who rescued the children. The vendor was booked on the charge of breach of peace, they said, adding the boys were handed over to their family.

While one of the children belongs to a Dalit family, the other belongs to minority community.
