Kerala Beedi Tycoon Who Killed Security Guard For Not Opening Gate Convicted For Murder

Kerala beedi tycoon, Mohammed Nisham, accused of mowing down a security guard last year for failing to open the colony’s entry gate quickly enough has been convicted of murder by a sessions court in Thrissur.

The incident had taken place at Nisham’s apartment complex in Thrissur where the tycoon had  first beaten up security guard, Chandrabose, and then rammed him a Hummer. Chandrabose succumbed to his injuries three weeks later at a private hospital and had sparked widespread protests across the state.

Nisham was allegedly inebriated when the incident took place.

However, it is not the first time that Nisham has committed a crime. There are already 16 criminal cases against him. 

The Kerala Police had invoked provisions of Kerala Anti-social Activities (Prevention) Act (KAAPA) against Nisham. Currently, he is in Kannur Central Jail.

Nisham is the managing director of King Beedi Company. 

In 1995, his father Adakkaparambil Abdul Khadar died leaving his business to his three sons. Nisham’s company is a well-known tobacco supplier for major companies in India and West Asia, reports The News Minute.
