JK Rowling And The Goblet Of Sexism: No One Gets Away With Trolling Serena Williams

War of words on Twitter between celebrities and non-entities is no more a rare sight. Celebrities have time and again given clear indication that nonsensical posts will not be tolerated on Twitter whether it’s a personal attack or not.

British novelist JK Rowling recently lashed out at a person who trolled tennis player Serena Williams on Twitter.

It all started after the Harry Potter writer congratulated Williams after she won her sixth Wimbledon title with a straight sets victory over Garbine Muguruza of Spain.

But a Twitter user named Rob with the handle @diegtristan8 responded with the tweet: “Ironic then that main reason for her success is that she is built like a man.”To which Rowling fired back on the person by letting him know that she did not appreciate the body-shaming.

Folks from different corners of the world came in support of Rowling and showed their love and respect for both Williams and Rowling.

Before Rowling, Indian celebrities, Abhishek Bachchan and Karan Johar have counterblasted to tweets that posted objectionable comments about them.

Quite often some folks pass obnoxious comments on social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook despite knowing the fact that such stupidity and nonsensical behaviour would only draw flak and won’t be tolerated. And at the end of the day, these attempts to troll leave them trolled.
