In this edition of the World Cup, India had very little problem with their bowling department, mainly thanks to Bumrah force and his steaming yorkers, forcing batsmen to commit errors.
Opposition batsmen in majority of matches, failed to take on Bumrah, making him India’s most economical bowler in the tournament so far.
Playing against Sri Lanka in their last round-robin match, India were asked to bowl first and it was Bumrah who dismissed Sri Lankan captain Dimuth Karunaratne.
While doing so, Bumrah claimed his 100th ODI wicket, in just his 57th match, reported Hindustan Times.
He is the second fastest Indian to this milestone behind Mohammad Shami, who reached this milestone in 56 games.
Overall Bumrah becomes the 7th fastest to reach the 100-wicket club in the 50 over format.
