Your struggle for finding change for Rs 2000 notes might become easier as the Reserve Bank of India may be planning to introduce Rs 200 denomination notes soon.
According to Mint, the printing of these new denomination notes will begin in June.
Moneycontrol also reports that RBI might print Rs 1,000 notes as well. The notes will come with additional security features.
India Today quoted unnamed sources as saying that the central bank plans to introduce new Rs 100, 200, 500 and 1000 notes in the future.
Soon after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes, new currency notes for Rs 500 and Rs 2,000 were rolled out in November 2016. In December, RBI also announced that it will issue new Rs 50 and Rs 20 notes.
The RBI has however, not confirmed the news as yet.
