Heavy monsoon rain completely washed out the second day’s play of the ongoing India-Bangladesh Test match at Fatullah Bangladesh.

With Bangladesh still to bat, India on the third day of the play came out chasing quick runs but lost three quick wickets for 27 in the process.Murali Vijay and Ajinkya Rahane managed to bring some stability on the wicket without sacrificing the scoring rate. At the time of writing this report, India had scored 398 for 3, in the second session of the third day, before the rain again stopped the play.

All three batsmen – Shikhar Dhawan who scored 173 runs off 195 balls, Rohit Sharma six and Virat Kohli 14 – were dismissed trying to play aggressive shots with usual test-match watchfulness taking a backseat.Later, Rahane joined Vijay and started rebuilding the innings. While Rahane was very cautious to not give away another wicket, Vijay, at the other end, batted as serenely as he usually does, scoring his fifth test hundred. If the test is drawn, India placed currently at No. 3, will slip to No. 4 in the ICC Test rankings. Here’s hoping rain doesn’t play spoilsport anymore.
