The ongoing Assam floods have created a havoc, endangering the lives of over 14 lakh people in 4,157 villages and increasing the death toll to 24 people.
With a rise in the water levels of Brahmaputra and ten other rivers that surround the city, 30 out of 33 districts of Assam have submerged in the flood.
The floods have swallowed over 90% of Kaziranga National Park, forcing the animals to flea to the highlands. Unfortunately, we’hv lost two one-horned rhinos in the calamity.
Search and rescue teams were successfully deployed by National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the Indian Army.
