In a first in the state, the West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences today came up with an indoor ward for pet dogs.
Animal Resources Development Minister Swapan Debnath said:
“This is for the first time in West Bengal that an indoor facility for pet dogs has come up in a government-run hospital. It was long time demand of pet lovers for a indoor facility,”
“We have an outdoor facility in all the animal hospitals across the state but we never had an indoor ward. In near future, we hope to extend this facility to all veterinary hospitals in the state,” Debnath said.
The indoor wards will have operation facility. A dialysis unit for animals will come up very soon.
“There are a few mobile vans for dogs and animals. More such mobile vans will come up in districts in the days to come,” Debnath said.
