Gunmen Open Fire In Delhi’s Karkardooma Court Complex Killing Constable, Three Injured

In a shocking case, a police constable was shot and killed in Delhi’s Karkardooma court premises as a group of persons tried to kill an undertrial.

The firing took place in court number 73, when an accused was produced before Metropolitan Magistrate Sunil Gupta in a case registered at Gandhi Nagar Police Station, reports The Indian Express.

Three other officials were injured, as four people who were present in the court opened fire.

The under-trial, a court clerk and a home guard were among those hurt in the attack, The deceased police official was hit by three bullets, The Hindu reports.

The official who was killed in the attack was escorting the undertrial to the court. The gunmen were taken into custody after they were apprehended by lawyers and police who were on duty at the premises.

Police teams have been rushed to the spot. The state government is reported to have declared Rs 1 crore as compensation for the constable’s family.

All four gunmen managed to escape and the motive for the shooting isn’t clear presently.
