Tiffany & Co was established in 1837 as a ‘stationery and fancy goods emporium’.

The 183-year-old brand was started by Charles Lewis Tiffany and John B. Young in Brooklyn. The store initially sold a variety of stationery items and operated as “Tiffany, Young and Ellis”.

2. The signature teal shade of Tiffany’s (populary known as the Tiffany Blue) is actually their copyright and is registered under the Pantone number 1837.

The iconic shade was inspired by Empress Eugenie De Moti Jio, the wife of Napolean III. She was the biggest fashion icon in the 19th century. 

3. Their famous blue box that’s symbolic of romantic gestures is actually recyclable and sustainable.

The little blue box is every diamond lover’s dream come true. Fun fact: they never sell their signature boxes, it’s probably the only thing in the entire store that can’t be brought with money.
