Not Just Mumbai, Turns Out Floods Are Wreaking Havoc In Washington DC, Too

The sight of Mumbai rains disrupting city life is horrendous. And after waking up to the pictures of rains flooding Mumbai every day, we’ve come to think that every flood picture is from Mumbai. But it turns out that rains are creating quite a scene in America’s capital city, Washington DC too.

Washington DC witnessed flash floods on 8th July, after nearly a month’s worth of rain lashed the city in just one hour.

Several pictures and videos showing the destruction caused by heavy rains have flooded the Internet.

Pictures of drenched floors of offices in the basement of the White House also went viral.

With the city receiving around 88mm of rain, homes are flooded, roads inundated and power lines have tripped.

A flash flood warning has been issued for the area by the National Weather Service.
