Just days after the historic Nirbhaya Gang rape verdict, another brutal rape case of a 23-year-old woman from Rohtak has shook the nation. Ruthlessly gang raped and murdered, her mutilated body was found in an empty plot in Rohtak city’s IMT area. The woman was reportedly abducted when she was on her way to work and was raped by at least 7 men, reports Times Now.
According to a PTI report, stray dogs had bitten away the victim’s face and lower portion of her body which was spotted by a passerby in the urban estate area of Rohtak on May 11.
According to Times Now , Dr SK Dhatarwal, the forensic expert who conducted her post-mortem, said the victim was mutilated with sharp-edged weapons and the accused later tried to run her over to hide her identity.
“The victim was tortured and her body was mutilated after the gang rape. She was killed after being raped involving at least seven people. Her skull was smashed in a way which indicates that she was run over by a vehicle in order to hide her identity,” the forensic team has stated.
The forensic team also found some drugs in viscera samples.

The girl’s parents, who live in Sonepat, had filed a missing complaint on May 9th and were called to Rohtak to identify the woman’s body. Grief stricken, the parents claimed that this act was out of vengeance and was carried out by the woman’s neighbor .
They told the police that prime accused was their neighbor identified as Sumit, who had visited their home only a few days ago. The deceased had turned his proposal for marriage following which Sumit threatened her with ‘befitting reply with dire consequences’, reports India Today.
“Two persons, Sumit and Vikas, have been arrested in this connection,” Sub-inspector Sonipat, Ajay Malik said.
