Kids Forced To Wash Dirty Utensils In Rajkot School After CM Visits Them For Lunch

In a shameful incident school children were forced to wash the dirty utensils in a government school in Rajkot, The kids reportedly had to wash the dishes after a visit by Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel on January 8, said a report by Sahara Samay

The kids were reportedly made to clean the dirty dishes after the Chief Minister had left the school. 

As part of her visit  for an event, the Chief Minister had taught the students and even had lunch with them, said a report by India Samvad

The report also says that as soon as the incident was reported, CM Anandiben summoned the concerned officials and told them to take strict action against the school administration.

However, this is not the first case of exploitation of children by schools. 

In February 2015, there were reports about how Dalit students were being made to clean toilets in the absence of sweepers in Jaipur. After the intervention of the Rajasthan High Court, NGO Bharat Bal Vigyan Samiti was authorised to conduct a survey on these schools, reports India Today.

In another such incident in April 2015, teachers of a school in Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu had allegedly forced 17 Dalit students to clean school toilets, reports The Hindu.

Following complaints from the parents of some Dalit children, about eight school officials were arrested by the police.
