Watch ‘Caste On The Menu Card’ The Documentary On Beef Banned By Film Division

Films and documentaries are always subjected to censorship. Without passing this test nothing goes to the big screen. But the sad part comes when a piece of work is associated to a running controversy at the national level.The documentary titled Caste on the Menu Card which delves into the idea of food as a site of exclusion by focusing on beef-eating practices in Mumbai was the only one among the 35 sent to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I&B;) to be denied exemption for screening.

The film was to be screened on Saturday at the Jeevika Asia Livelihood Documentary Festival 2015 in Delhi. However, the filmmakers say that they were told by organisers that they would need a censor certificate.
