People Are Pointing Out A Major Blunder On Women’s Security In BJP’s Manifesto

Ira Shukla

With an eye on successive victory, the current ruling party BJP released its manifesto on April 8 and while every point mentioned in it was a topic of discussion, there was one in particular that caught people’s eyes.

Presumably a typing or a framing error, BJP manifesto stated:

(We) have made strict provisions for transferring the laws in order to commit crimes against women.

No sooner than people noticed this error, they started sharing the screenshot on Twitter with the hashtag WomenBewareOfBJP, expressing concern over the views of the party.

A report from Economic Times suggests that there was another typo in the manifesto which said that BJP promises time-bound ‘trail’ for rape instead of ‘trial’ for rape.

The soft copy of the manifesto released on the internet reportedly doesn’t have these errors.
