Airport Shut Indefinitely, Trains Cancelled: Chennai Floods Cut Off The City From India

So far over 200,000 people across Tamil Nadu have been affected by the floods forcing to leave their homes and shut down factories. And in Chennai, streets are flooded and people have been forced to leave their homes as water levels across the city rose.

The rains are also so bad that the entire city is cut off from the outside world with the city’s airport still shut down due to the flooding. Railway stations and trains have also been badly affected due to the rain with tracks flooded in many areas.

So just how bad is it?

All airlines, including Air India, have cancelled their operations from Chennai airport. The airport is reportedly likely to be opened only at 6 am on Thursday:
