20 Soulful Songs By KK That Capture Love In All Its Forms

It was 1999 and the song ‘Yaaron’ had just released. The voice behind the song struck a chord with us and we were left asking for more. And the man in question, KK aka Krishnakumar Kunnath, did not disappoint. As years passed by, KK continued to give us back-to-back chartbusters on love and friendship and with every new song we fell for his voice a little more.

There might be many talented singers on the block today, but KK’s contribution to Bollywood music is phenomenal. Here are some perfect melodies by him that capture love in all its forms. 

1. Tadap Tadap, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam 

KK started his musical career in Bollywood with this song and his voice resonated with us. Heartbreaking yet beautiful. 

2. Pyaar Ke Pal, Pal

Remember Pyaar Ke Pal being played at your school farewell? We totally do. This is one of our all-time favourite songs by the singer. 

3. Yaaron, Pal

Pyaar Ke Pal and Yaaron were from the same album, Pal. If Pyaar Ke Pal was your farewell song, then Yaaron was the friendship anthem. 

4. Awarapan Banjarapan, Jism 

Remember this song from Jism 2? KK made it all the more profound with his deep voice. 

5. Tu Aashiqui Hai, Jhankar Beats

Such a happy-go-lucky number from Jhankar Beats.

6. Tu Hi Meri Shab Hai, Gangster

We might have fallen for Emraan Hashmi playing guitar in this song, but we loved KK on the vocals just as much.

Life In A…Metro was one poignant movie and so were its songs. Alvida was one of our favourites.

Now, this song is an epitome of beauty. It seemed as if KK’s voice was tailor made for this one.

This one from Bhool Bhulaiyaa defined romance for us for quite a long time. Soft and melodious, we still play it when our hearts yearn for some soulful music.

You surely remember Emraan proposing Sonal on the middle of the road in this song from Jannat.

You might not remember this movie featuring Urmila Matondkar but I can bet my money that you remember this song!

14. Beetein Lamhe, The Train

Another soulful rendition by KK from The Train. This song ruled the Hindi music charts for a long time. 

15. Khuda Jaane, Bachna Ae Haseeno

We loved the movie, we loved Ranbir and Deepika and we couldn’t get enough of KK. KK’s voice and the lyrics made for a melodious combination.

16.  Dil Ibaadat, Tum Mile

We don’t think there is any other singer who could have pulled such a song with so many variations. 

17. Dil Kyun Ye Mera, Kites

This melodious track from Kites proved that after all these years, KK’s still got it! 

18. Abhi Abhi, Jism 2

And he took romance to another level with this number from Jism 2. 

19. Kya Mujhe Pyaar Hai, Woh Lamhe

This track rocked the music chartbusters for quite a long time and not without reason.
