This Touching Story Proves That There Is Still Hope For The Girl Child In India

“When you educate a girl, you kick-start a cycle of success. It makes economic sense. It makes social sense. It makes moral sense. But, it seems, it’s not common sense yet.”  – Queen Rania of Jordan

Let’s face it. Globally, we’re no longer considered a developing nation. Think about it. We have almost everything, right from the latest infrastructure to the latest technologies. However, still millions of young girls in our country can only dream about going to school and leading a better life. It’s no wonder that we, as a nation, have failed the girl child. And in a way, ourselves too.

I mean, just look around yourself. You will find hundreds of stories of girls who wish to go to school and do better for themselves. But unfortunately, as we know it, they might never. Unless and until we take a collective responsibility of shaping their future. The same way Hero MotoCorp has taken the responsibility of young Bisma, a 7-year-old Kashmiri girl. Last year, the motorcycle brand through its CSR initiative helped 1,00,000 underprivileged girls like Bisma lead a better life. And this year, they plan to take the initiative to even greater heights!

To see how Bisma’s life has changed, watch her story that has been eloquently narrated the legendary Gulzar himself…
