Photographer Gives Sexist Vintage Ads A Role Reversal To Show How Misogynistic Advertising Can Be

Women were always shown in a suppressed light in movies, books and pop culture, somehow only restricted to household chores. And with highly sexist and misogynistic ads, advertising played a big role in writing up this skewed representation.

Taking those ads, photographer and video editor from Beirut, Lebanon, Eli Rezkallah created a series called “In A Parallel Universe” and decided to switch gender roles portrayed in some vintage ads to exhibit some shallow stereotypes.
