They say mothers are the closest you can come to God. If you have to give someone an example of unconditional love. they are the best example you can give. A mother can do anything for her child and we are not just talking about humans here. Mothers are mothers, it doesn’t matter if she is a human or an animal.

The Dodo

This is a story of an injured Greyhound mother dog who was discovered limping on the streets by a Psychologist, Lianne Powell. She took her to the veterinarian where they found out that the Greyhound had just delivered puppies as she was still producing milk.

According to Bored Panda, the vet, Ellen Sobry said:

We put a collar and long lead on her. Then we just followed her. She knew where she was going.

Sobry followed her all the way and discovered something beautiful.

Limping and at times dragging her cast, she led us along the backstreets and main roads over the fields and along muddy tracks… There in the back were 10 beautiful, fat little healthy puppies.

Sobry was shocked at how quickly the mother trusted them around her newborn puppies.

It was incredible – I couldn’t believe what I saw… That dog didn’t know us, we’d only met her like an hour before so it was really incredible how she decided to trust and show us where they were.

The Greyhound mom was named Vera, and she and her puppies are recovering at Ellen’s clinic right now. You can watch the heartwarming video here.

God bless mothers!
