“His face was underwater and he was fighting, like he was really fighting. Luckily, he was only a little guy…and I honestly just sort of hopped him up.” the humble groom says, according to CTV news.

The couples wedding photographer, Darren Hatt, captured the stills of the rescue and posted several of the pictures on Facebook, with the caption:

“A special shout out to last night’s groom Clayton! While I was taking solo pictures of the bride this little guy was pushed into the river behind me by another child. By the time the bride noticed and shouted out, Clayton had already jumped down and brought him to safety. His quick action saved the little guy who was struggling to swim. Well done sir!”

Since then, the post has gone viral and has garnered praise from many who have been touched by Clay’s act even though he seems unfazed by all the attention.

Here’s what people had to say:

Clay’s wife isn’t even surprised by his actions. According to Bustle, she said, “Clay’s so humble to begin with that he didn’t see it as a big deal. That’s what everybody would do,”

Brittany now calls Clay her “hero husband”. Too bad ladies, Clay is already taken.
