Shaken By A Toddler’s Death, This 12-Year-Old Has Started Filling Potholes Wherever He Spots Them

There is nothing more pure and impressionable than a child’s soul. And it was reaffirmed in Hyderabad as 12-year-old Ravi Teja took it upon himself to fill the potholes of a Hyderabad locality after he witnessed the death of a toddler. It scarred him obviously and he’s making every effort so that no one else has to face that fate.

A couple was on their motorcycle with their toddler, when they fell because of an unexpected, ditch-like pothole. The toddler didn’t survive the accident, and witnessing that has motivated the boy to fill in every pot-hole within sight using stones. According to Teja, no one deserves to die like that. And he shall continue his work until all pot-holes are filled in his locality.

In a political climate where stones are the reason behind a bloody unrest further north, it is encouraging to see the same stones become life-savers down south. And thank God for children with a conscience like Ravi Teja, who not only observe the limitations of society and the country, but do something about it.

As the character of R Madhavan said in Rang De BasantiKoi bhi desh perfect nahi hota, usse perfect banana padhta hai. And someone like Hyderabad’s 12-year-old Ravi Teja is an inspiration to many arm-chair critics who are ‘moved’ by many things they read or see, but do nothing about improving the situation for the others.
