Looks like religion got in the way of X-Men: Apocalypse. The reference to Krishna in the trailer has offended Hindu statesman, Rajan Zed who has spoken against it.

The trailer of X-Men: Apocalypse, which was released on December this year, gives a glimpse of the blue-coloured villain saying, “I have been called many things over many lifetimes — Ra, Krishna, Yahweh.”

Rajan Zed released a statement arguing that mentioning Krishna in a movie is hurtful to the many that worship him.

The statement mentions, ” such trivialization of Lord Krishna, who was highly revered in Hinduism, was quite inappropriate and disturbing to the devotees. Lord Krishna was meant to be worshipped in temples or home shrines and not for pushing movies for mercantile greed of filmmakers”, Zed pointed out.

“Hinduism was the oldest and third largest religion of the world with about one billion adherents and a rich philosophical thought and it should not be taken frivolously. Symbols of any faith, larger or smaller, should not be mishandled”, Zed noted.

He has asked director Bryan Singer to remove all references to Lord Krishna from the trailer and the final movie.

The movie is scheduled to release in May, 2016. You can watch the trailer here

Hoping religion and fiction does not clash, good luck for the release!
