Nobody likes seeing a doctor, and I even have nightmares about the things you see at the hospital. However nasty things might seem, it could always be worse. Some people just have it bad, as is apparent from the myriad of unexplainable diseases that seem to keep popping up faster than they can be cured. Ranging from worms inside the skin to tears made of blood, some of our Desi doctors have pretty much seen it all.
Here are some of the weirdest medical cases ever seen in India!
1. People in Rajasthan had Long worms coming out from their skin
In the early 80s, many parts of Rajasthan were affected by Dracunculiasis, which is contracted through dirty water. A blister forms on the skin, which then exposes one end of a worm, which can be PULLED OUT! That’s just nasty.

4. Rinku Devi gave birth despite having two wombs
Rinku Devi, a woman from Patna, delivered 2 perfectly healthy babies in 2011. The strange thing was, they were both from a different womb. This is because she suffered from Uterus Didelphys, a condition where you have 2 wombs. Next time you say “he’s my brother from another mother”, think twice!
5. Sanju Bhatnagar had his Twin growing inside his stomach
Sanju Bhagat from Nagpur discovered he had Fetus in Fetu, which occurs when a twin grows inside the other sibling in the early stages of pregnancy and survives long after its birth, when he was 36. 7. These kids in Bihar look 8 times their actual age
A couple in Bihar have 7 children, five of whom suffer from this Progeria, or rapid ageing syndrome, where the the person starts to look like they’re ageing way faster than they actually are. Only 1 in 8 million people suffer from this condition, which was also highlighted in the Amitabh Bachan movie ‘Paa’.
8. This baby was born with a single central eye, like a cyclops
In 2006, a baby was born with this medical Cyclopia, which is thought to have been brought on by an experimental anti-cancer drug. She was born with a single eye in the center of her forehead, no nose and her brain fused into a single hemisphere.
