We all get caught up in the mad rush for fame, fortune and success while telling ourselves that we will make a difference. But when was the last time we did something truly selfless? Something that really made a difference? Here’s a remarkable man Jadav Payeng who has been planting trees since he was 16 years old because he was crestfallen at the plight of animals who died due to lack of trees.
Today, he is single-handedly responsible for creating an entire forest in which several animals have found shelter. He has been honored by Dr. Abdul Kalam as THE FOREST MAN OF INDIA. In 2012, he was invited as a delegate by United Nations in their convention at Vienna. And to think, the Government hardly gave him any assistance to fulfil this noble endeavour of his.
