With the wedding season approaching, love is in the air. Be it lovers for years, lovers for a while, or strangers planning to explore a life full of love ahead, most of them envisage their wedding day. And when the day finally does arrive, it never misses to send a rush of red through the cheeks of the anxious couple.

The couples in a Hindu marriage take part in a ritual revered for years called the ‘saptapadi’ or the ‘saat pheres’ or simply put, the seven vows. Most of us do not even know the meaning of the seven vows hidden behind the complex Sanskrit Mantras.
