It’s Easier For A Woman To Be A Thief In India. This Video Shows You Why

Remember how we talked about men suffering at the hands of sexism sometime back? Here’s a video to freshen your memories. Actor Varun Pruthi came up with an idea for a social experiment that involves taking a stand against something that’s very, very wrong. With the help of a hidden camera, a loaded wallet and a “well dressed” female accomplice, Varun managed to catch all of us at a backfoot. He and his friend Prerna Thakkar took turns at playing a thief in a crowded public place, stealing money from a wallet that the other one inadvertently drops, and recorded the public reaction. While the male thief was caught every single time, the woman was just met with stunned silence and sheepish grins. Varun makes a very strong point about wrong being wrong irrespective of the gender, and we can’t help but agree!
