Cry, eat and sleep – That’s pretty much all that newborns do. Except, of course, looking at you with their round innocent eyes asking for a hug, or a little cuddle to put them off to sleep. But no matter how cute they are, you can’t deny that sometimes the crying does get to your nerve!
For example, when you have work at 8 in the morning and your precious little darling feels like throwing one of her regular tantrums, do you not wish you could just put her to bed peacefully?
Well, Dr. Robert C Hamilton has a trick that is the solution to your problem!
The California-based paediatrician has devised a technique to calm infants. The doctor says that this technique, dubbed ‘The Hold’, works every time without fail. And it’s true!
So this is how you do it:
Fold your baby’s arms across his/her chest. Secure the arms gently. Then grasp the diaper area and rock the baby at 45 degrees in a gentle motion. Voila! Look who’s smiling now.
