Hold It. Aim It. Shoot.

Aiming while you pee right into the bowl doesn’t sound that hard, right?

Because if it does, we have some bad news for you.

Scientists have discovered that men who just can’t shoot straight while they pee have a significantly increased risk of contracting several cancers.

The study that was presented at the American Society for Reproductive Medicine involved a sample size of more than 1.5 million men found that there were clear links between stomach, skin and testicular cancers and Peyronie’s Disease, a condition that presents as a “curved penis”.

The review of patient data shows that those with this condition are at a 40 % higher risk of testicular cancer, a 29% higher risk of melanoma (a type of skin cancer), and a 40% increased likelihood to have stomach cancer.

The researchers even conducted a genetic analysis of a father and son (both suffering from Peyronie’s) and discovered that they shared a set of genes known to make people liable to urological cancers.

The team of doctors researching on the subject said that men with Peyronie’s disease should be closely monitored for cancer in a hope to detect it in the early stage.

“We think this is important because these conditions are largely taken for granted. These men should be monitored for development of these disorders disproportionately in contrast to the rest of the population,” said Dr Alexander Pastuszak, who was leading the study from the front.

Emma Shields, from Cancer Research UK, said: “It’s not yet fully understood what causes Peyronie’s disease and it’s possible it shares some similar risk factors to cancer.
