According to a London-based doctor, watching the show can be therapeutic and help in relieving stress and anxiety. Marc Hekster, Clinical Psychologist at The Summit Clinic in Highgate in a study claimed that watchingTV shows like F.R.I.E.N.D.S can have soothing qualities and help in curbing down your anxiety.  

In an interview with Metro, Hekster explained that it is more about the healing nature of repetition. Studies claim that seeing a similar outcome every time and knowing you can depend on it acts as a quick boost to the brain and tricks you into believing that complex situations can be solved if you calm your mind, believe in yourself and work as a team.
