A Chef, Writer & Now A Director Taking His Film To Cannes, Is There Anything Vikas Khanna Can’t Do?

Ritika Sherry

Vikas Khanna is a man who dons many hats, besides his prized chef’s hat.

This time around, the Michelin chef is putting on a director’s hat. He has turned his upcoming book The Last Color into a movie starring Neena Gupta.

The book will release on the 18th of May.

The first look of the film will be unveiled at the Cannes Film Festival 2018.

The one hour 26 minute film is based on the infamous tradition of barring widows in Vrindavan from playing Holi.

Clearly, Vikas Khanna is a man of many talents. And he believes in taking the road less travelled. How else can you explain a Michelin star chef to write a work of fiction, and then direct it!

And while we now know him as the awesome chef-turned-novelist-turned-director, he is also a great philanthropist.

In the past, he has auctioned a prized tome to feed 200,000 underprivileged children. And raised money to feed the elderly.

Most recently, he founded and curated India’s first living culinary museum to keep the country’s culinary past alive.

And shares all his heartwarming milestones with his favourite companion: his mother.

Can this guy be any more awesome!
