The trailer for the much-awaited Uri is out, and this action-packed drama is based on the 2016 surgical strike.

Since the teaser released earlier this year, it was clear that the movie is inspired by the 2016 surgical strike, led by Indian Army special forces, in response to the Uri military camp attacks, in which at least 17 soldiers lost their lives.

Vicky Kaushal plays the role of the army officer, who has lost some of his comrades in the attack and is now in charge of the battalion who lead the surgical strike against the terrorists.

The movie also stars Yami Gautam as an intelligence officer, Kirti Kulhari (of Pink fame) as an officer reporting to Vicky Kaushal, and Paresh Rawal as apparently, the head of intelligence.

Gritty, violent, and full of suspense – the trailer manages to rouse your expectations, despite the fact that everyone is aware of the real story.

2018 has definitely been the year of Vicky Kaushal and looking at the trailer, it appears that he is all set to start 2019 on a high note as well.

The movie releases on January 11.
