It’s time we gave you cinephiles something to really look forward to. There are plenty of Hollywood releases in the upcoming months, be it superhero movies, fantasy, action or drama. At least for the next few weekends, your movie list is in good hands.

So, here are 15 movies that are about to hit the theatres that you need to mark your calendars for.

1. Snowden

The upcoming biographical-political thriller film directed by Oliver Stone, Snowden is one of the most anticipated films this year, set to release in September. Primarily because the true story the movies is based on is one of the most controversial intelligence leaks this century.

2. Inferno

Inferno is a mystery thriller film directed by Ron Howard, based on a book by best-selling novelist Dan Brown, starring Tom Hanks.

3. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

J K Rowling’s debut as a screenwriter is about unfold in this fantasy adventure film directed by David Yates. The film is set to come out November this year.

4. Doctor Strange

Need I even say anything more than the fact that Benedict Cumberbatch seems like the perfect fit to play Doctor Strange in the upcoming superhero flick due to release in November this year.

5. Hacksaw Ridge

Based on the ridiculously badass true story of soldier Desmond Doss, Hacksaw Ridge is one of the most highly anticipated movies set to release this year.

6. The Magnificent Seven

The upcoming remake of the original western action film is directed by Antoine Fuqua, and it’s got one ridiculous star cast.

7. Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk

Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk is a beautiful and heartfelt upcoming drama film directed by Ang Lee that’s set to come out in November this year.

8. Assassin’s Creed

Yes, it’s finally happening. The epic action adventure video game series now has a movie of its own and it looks insane. Die hard fans might want to ease up with the revised plot. 

But the trailer sets this movie apart from what you expected.

9. King Arthur: Legend of the Sword

Guy Ritchie directing a period film, about King Arthur. Really. What more do you want me to say? Ritchie’s clearly brought his unique style to the visualise the legend and it looks just perfect. The movie’s set to release in March, 2017.

10. Rogue One

Directed by Gareth Edwards, the newest instalment in the Star Wars Series is by all means considered to be the best and most anticipated one yet. Expect to get up close and personal with the Death Star.

11. Sully

Sully is an upcoming biographical drama film directed and co-produced by Clint Eastwood, starring Tom Hanks, and set to release in September this year. The movie is based on the true story of the survival experience of the passengers and crew aboard a plane making an emergency landing.

Morgan is an upcoming science fiction thriller film directed by Luke Scott about a bio-engineered child with exceptional abilities. he movie is set to release in September this year.

13. Deepwater Horizon

Deepwater Horizon is based on the true story of the disaster that struck in the Gulf of Mexico when a drilling rig exploded on April 20, 2010, resulting in the biggest oil spill in US history. The movie is set to release in September.

The sequel to the epic first instalment starring Keanu Reeves as the badass hitman has been announced for a February, 2017 release. There’s very little information out on the movie but we’re already looking forward to it.

15. The Disappointments Room

The Disappointments Room is an upcoming horror film set to release on September 9, this year. The movie is set to be based on true events and guarantees a serious scare.
