A Short History Of How The Salman Khan Blackbuck Poaching Trial Went On For 18 Years

The Rajasthan High Court on Monday acquitted Bollywood actor Salman Khan in two cases related to poaching of a chinkara and a blackbuck in Jodhpur in 1998. 

The court held that the pellets recovered from the chinkaras were not fired from Khan’s licensed gun or any other weapon recovered from the actor. The driver of the jeep that was used by Khan and his co-stars on their alleged hunting mission never turned up for the trial to be examined by the actor’s lawyers, weakening the prosecution’s case against the movie star.
