No matter wherever you are from, you listen to a Punjabi song and you’re going to break into bhangra right away. But even though this trend of stellar Punjabi music is never going to die, we do miss those Punjabi songs that we grew up listening to in the 90’s and early 2000’s.
So here is a list of all those foot-tapping Punjabi songs that will never be forgotten.
1. Tunak Tunak Tun – Daler Mehndi
Tunak Tunak Tun was not just a song, it was an anthem. The song is so damn popular that even the firangs totally gaga over it.
2. Ishq Tera Tadpave – Sukhbir
You don’t know Punjabi? That’s cool. Just say ‘oh ho ho ho‘ and we’re game to hit that dance floor with you on this song.
3. Sohniye – Juggy D
You know you want to get into a full-on bhangra mode the minute you hear the initial beats of this song and why not? It is so damn catchy.
4. Gur Naal Ishq Mitha – Bally Sagoo
Admit it, we all thought it was ‘Gori’ naal ishq mitha for a long long time. But no matter whatever we thought of, every time this song was played in a shaadi or a party, we broke into its signature dance just like Jas Arora.
5. Aja Maahi – RDB
RDB became a household name after this song. Even though we couldn’t understand a word of the rap in this song, it will still be one of our favourites.

6. Dil Luteya – Jazzy B
Jazzy B was one musician who had more swag than all of us combined. And his music, well it made our dil luteya much too often.
7. Sauda Khara Khara – Sukhbir
What can we say? Sukhbir was the epitome of bomb and y’all know it.
8. Mundian To Bach Ke – Panjabi MC
This is one of those songs that was played literally everywhere. From radio to a club, this song was hella multipurpose.
9. Ari Ari – Bombay Rockers
Ari Ari was one song that introduced us to the desi Hip- Hop culture and we will forever be grateful for that.
10. Balle Balle – Daler Mehndi
What a song. What a video and what a fantastic vibe upbeat song had. Balle Balle will always be one of the biggest part of our childhood.
11. Dil Chori Sada Ho Gaya – Hans Raj Hans
Even though there is a recent remixed version of this song now, the original version will always remain the gangster of our times.
12. Kangna – Dr. Zeus
We gotta admit that our teenage aesthetic was heavily inspired by these guys and honestly, we have zero regrets.
13. Nachange Sari Raat – Stereo Nation
Did you guys get the lyrics of this song entirely wrong all this while and kept singing ‘main changi’ saari raat‘? Oh great! We didn’t either.
14. Ek Glassy – Sona Family
This song introduced us to Hard Kaur and pretty much became the party anthem of our times. Ah! good times.
15. Kala Sha Kala – Anamika
Shaadi ho ya sagaai, if this song is not in it, then we don’t wanna be a part of that wedding.
